Allergies

It's such a beautiful day in the Ozarks but I'm stuck inside because of allergies! Yuck! The pollen count must be off the charts. Well they are calling for rain so, maybe it will move in sooner than tomorrow, then I wouldn't feel so bad about having to stare at these walls. And maybe I could move to Arizona where the pollen doesn't paint your car green.

Blog

It looks as if Windows Live Spaces shut down my other blog for reasons unknown to me. And, again, for reasons unknown to me, I can't seem to get a response from them as to why they closed it down or how to get it back on line so that means I will be posting more on this blog. Which is perfectly okay with me.

I had been pondering on whether to keep them both anyway so this just answers my question. I never favored one over the other but have found Blogger easier in several different ways. The down side is that I had lots and lots of friends and groups on the other blog and with no way of contacting them, I guess I just have to start over! That's okay ~ it will be fun.

Incurable Bookworm: The Dark Tower Series

I finished The Dark Tower books that my Mom got me for Christmas. I don't know why I haven't read them before. I loved them each individually and all together as a complete story. I couldn't say enough about them to do them justice. If you love to read Stephen King, as I do, I wouldn't miss out on this incredible piece of work.

The ending was brilliant, one that I never saw coming (which made it even better) and one that I pondered on for days after I was finished. I even went back and read the ending over and over again to make sure that I didn't miss a single thing. I highly recommend keeping a box of Kleenex handy when you get to the last book and that's all I'm saying because I don't want to spoil the ride for anyone else.

Nothing Going On

Well, two days have gone by and no trades to speak of. We went for one today and got out right before end of day. We were expecting a pop over $1.50 but it just didn't happen so we got out for the price of commissions. So all in all, not a bad day, but certainly not a good one either!

Here's to hoping there will be good trades tomorrow! Cool

Incurable Bookworm: Black House

I don't know what to say about this book other than it was awesome. It was a page-turner if I've ever read one. Once I got somewhere around the middle of the book ~ when the all the characters were developed and I quit confusing them ~ I couldn't stop reading it.

I loved Jack Sawyer from The Talisman which I read eons ago and will definitely have to read again. I fell in love with Henry ~ He reminded me of an awesomely cool Frank Sinatra or Bing Crosby. I don't know if that was the intended idea for Henry but I couldn't help but think of him that way.

The connection to The Dark Tower was obvious. And there was a little spot where they could have run into The Little Sisters of Eluria from Everything's Eventual but they didn't.

I'm going to re-read The Talisman again and then move on to The Dark Tower Series. Black House is definitely not a rehash of The Talisman just to let you know. It's different. And it's worth the read but if you haven't read The Talisman ~ you might want to start there. You won't be disappointed in either one.
