Incurable Bookworm: Bag of Bones

Bag of Bones was a good one. Mike Noonan quickly became one of my favorite characters ever. And I love Stephen King's sense of humor. I found myself laughing a lot and sometimes checking to see if I was really reading a horror novel. (Found out I was from the ghost.)

It was a good read for anyone interested in my favorite author.

50 bucks is 50 bucks

A man and his wife go to the county fair for 50 years and every year the man said he would love to go on the helicopter ride but his wife said 50 bucks is 50 bucks. Then, one year the pilot heard this and said "if you don't make a sound on the flight you can ride for free." So the pilot does everything he can to make them make a sound, even loop the loops. At the end of the ride the pilot said "congratulations you didn't make a sound the ride is free." To which the man replied "I almost did when my wife fell out but 50 bucks is 50 bucks!"

Incurable Bookworm: Phantoms

I finished Phantoms by Dean Koontz a few days ago.

This book grabbed me in the first few pages and didn't let go. I will usually give a book a few chapters to pull me but this one took in me immediately. It was a good, quick read. I just couldn't put it down. The ending I saw coming but even ending the way it did, I still liked it very much.

Keep in mind that you would have to love Sci-Fi or Horror to enjoy it. And since I do, I would recommend it on a rainy day.

No Trading Today

I'm not trading today. I'm just not into it. I sort of feel drained so instead of trying to force a trade and make stupid mistakes, I think that I will just sit on the sidelines and cheer. Rah Rah! Go Guys Go! I used to be a cheerleader in high school ~ can't you tell?? Ha ha.

I made a good swing trade Monday - Tuesday. I traded HEB from $2.07 to $2.44. I could have held out for another .10 cents where it topped and began to fade but we were heading out of town so I wanted to get out. Otherwise I'm very happy with the trade.

Today I plan to remain in cash unless something just jumps out at me. But with this drab rainy day, I think I'll spend more time reading my book than watching the markets.

Incurable Bookworm: Cell

I just finished reading Cell by Stephen King.

It was really intriguing, even though it reminded me of a mini The Stand. It pulled me in and held my interest until I got to the end and then I desperately turned the pages searching for more.

He left the book unfinished, like it was ~ to be continued ~. There was so much more that needed to be wrapped up (in my opinion) and so many different scenarios that might have been.

At first I was mad, because I needed answers to all my questions. What was the pulse? Who started it? What happened to Clay and his son? Tom? Jordon? Aaahhh! It was all left up in the air. And what were those dates all about?

It left me running about 5 different ending around in my head desperately searching for one that made sense and drove me crazy for about an hour and a half.

But then I began to think about Stephen King and his reasoning behind leaving a book unfinished and maybe... just maybe... this desperate searching, deep thinking, running crazy scenarios in my head thing was what he intended all along... and if so... isn't that the beauty of it?

But then again, I'm still mad at him. I want to know what's in his head not mine. I already know what I know. Geez.

Even though I've never been a huge Eagle's fan, their blunder in signing Michael Vick hacks me off. The dude tortured and killed helpless animals. What a creep. And NO! I won't forgive and FORGET. No way ~ No how
